There are so many books out there on writing it's hard to know when to stop reading and start writing!

Like you though, Carol, I dip into my collection when I need a boost. It's good to know which books are worthwhile. Thank-you.

Hi Lis,
You are so right...grab the How-to books for reinforcement and renewed courage.

Thanks for commenting.

Carol--I LOVE to read your recommendations. However, if you had ONE book you'd recommend, what would it be?

Ouch!
Jane...Just ONE?
B-but...HOW?
On a recent trip to our favorite bookstore I walked out hands empty while hubby carried his three new books. He stopped me in the parking lot in front of the store. "What's wrong? Why didn't you buy books?"

I turned to him, ignoring traffic. "It's a sad day when I can't even find a "How-to-write" book I want to buy."

Get the picture? I seem to collect them. And I haven't mentioned Valerie Parv, Leslie Wainger, Kate Walker, Leigh Michaels, Janet Evanovich...and so many other authors of good advice.

So...you see my dilemma!
I'm still thinking!!!!
LOL
Jane, thanks so much for posting.

We-l-l...
Donald Maas has two contenders, plus the authors I mentioned above, then there's the NO, THANKS book, and...oh, it won't be STORY... there's James Scott Bell's book, Brickman's book, oh, don't forget Scott Card's book...and Elizabeth George...and the Everything book about writing romance...Think that was Christie Craig, have to go look.
So...bottom line...

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WRITING BOOK?

Help me off the merry-go-round of how-to books. Give me advice. LOL

Still don't have an answer? I admit that my question is selfish. I don't do well reading non-fiction (I'm told that's a problem for dyslexics) so I need to know the BEST writing book!
