A Little Bit of Passion

I now got the cover for my latest romance, called A Little Bit of Passion, and I just have to share it with you to bring some color into your winter!

As Avalon is a family friendly publisher who doesn't go beyond a kiss, the title might make you wonder what on earth is happening here- but in fact, this romance is no deviation from the Avalon rules. The "passion" in this book refers to the way the heroine Karen lives her life - with total dedication to what she does: She's a skiing instructor in winter and sells books in her own bookstore in summer. Being a sort of "modern gypsy" suits her need for independence, until she meets a man who makes her reconsider her choices.

This novel is entirely written in the form of e-mails, as Karen writes about all her emotional turmoil to her best friend (and co-owner of the book store). It was a first for me to write a novel in this way, and I enjoyed myself like a kid in a sweet-shop. Somehow, writing in first person makes it all even more immediate. I'm glad the Avalon editors liked it and were willing to go along with this unusual concept.

A Little Bit of Passion will come out in April - and I wonder about my shelf-mates. Whose book is also scheduled for cycle two 2011? Have you received your covers already? I would love to see them!

Sounds like a great and very original book, Beate. And I LOVE the cover. The colors and shapes are wonderful.

My third book for Avalon was originally titled "The Passion of Miss Prim." I loved the title but wasn't allowed to keep that. It became "Miss Prim." I'm glad your title made it through!

Thank you so much for your comments - and I'm glad you like the cover! I had expected a winter-landscape - snow in the mountains, and when I opened the mail with the cover, I was speechless at first. But I think it's a very clever idea - and a true eye-catcher!

Love the idea of a novel written as emails, imagine that it will read quickly and be a lot of fun. Also love the cover. Remind us again when it's out, Beate.

Has anyone read Jane Hamilton's LAURA RIDER'S MASTERPIECE? In it, someone uses emails to create the plot for a romance. It's an interesting book, much lighter than Hamilton's usual fare.

Love the pink! It's so fun. I'm excited to read it. I recently re-read Meggin Cabot's Boy Next Door which is written in emails. It will be fun to see how you did it.

I Sandy and Joselyn, I don't know either of the books you mention, but I once read Lucy Talk by Fiona Walker, a British author. It's also written in the form of e-mails, and it was so funny that I laughed all the time. I loved that book.
