My Personal Writing Marathon

As you're reading this, I am on my way to the American Solar Energy Society's Annual Conference in Buffalo. My husband is attending the conference. I plan to hole-up in the hotel room, pretend I'm a full-time writer, and see how much I can get done.

My agenda:

Wednesday: Edit the chapter+ I wrote this past week on the four-hour drive to my cousin Kathy's house in Albion.

Thursday: Write all day, with a break to take a swim in the hotel pool.

Friday: Write all day, with a break to take a swim in the hotel pool.

Saturday: Write all day, with a break to take a swim in the hotel pool. Have dinner with my brothers.

Sunday: Assuming the hotel Business Center has a printer, edit what I've written on the five hour drive home.

Wish me luck! I'll report my progress in the comments daily.

You might be scheduling too many breaks there. Perhaps you can get a swimming costume for your computer and take it swimming with you.

You go, Jean! I'm looking forward to your report, not just how much you accomplished, but how you felt about writing 8 hours a day (not counting the swim breaks!). Have a great time.

Hopefully he can find a way to solar-power your computer so you can write all day and save the earth too

Wednesday, Day one didn't work out as planned. No editing, but I did some research for a new book. Did anyone here know that America's first anti-slavery political party was formed in Wyoming County, NY, where I grew up>

Way to go!
Keep us posted on your progress.

About five hours of writing yesterday, but only about 800 or 900 new words. My characters Mac and Dana were kind of boring me so I had to do a lot of tninking to make them not bore my future readers, too.

And a nice visit with my two brother who live in Buffalo. Dinner with dh's brother the night before.
